Hi, I’m Jayme!
At age 12, I realized my .150 batting average probably wasn’t going to get noticed by the Boston Red Sox. So I pivoted my dream to "play-by-play announcer" and have been writing and editing ever since.
While studying journalism at Syracuse University, a wise professor steered me toward news. After two years of live TV news reporting in Las Cruces, New Mexico, I went “in house” to promote the good stories coming out of great organizations, including an education reform/workforce development nonprofit in Boston and a global medtech leader headquartered in San Diego.
In my free time… I wanted to write and edit some more! So I earned a copyediting certificate in 2009 and have since helped hundreds of clients write best-selling books, annual/ESG/DEI reports, client brochures, websites, research papers, resumes, and more!
When I’m not writing or editing stories, I love singing them. I’ve done community theatre (Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, Guys & Dolls, Gypsy, The Fantasticks), performed with the San Diego Master Chorale and San Diego Symphony, and will always accept an invite to karaoke. (I have 30 favorite karaoke songs. Don’t make me pick just one.)
Other things I love include (in no particular order): board games, golf, football, chocolate (preferably dark), long walks on Coronado Beach, my wife Jamie (yes, same name), our tuxedo cat Luna (pictured below, because you’re not allowed to mention a pet and not share pics), and long walks with Luna. (Yes, we walk our cat. Neighbors call us “the Cat Walkers.”)
I’d love to learn more about you! Email me or message me on LinkedIn.
